We've been putting off buying the baby crib bedding (because we're lazy, no other reason), but we finally dragged ourselves out to do it yesterday. I was sure it would be easy; we'd already chosen the brown and pink theme. We'd go to the bedding store, check out a few options, and we'd be done in an hour, tops. The first problem with the plan came when the store told us they don't carry baby bedding. The next store had baby bedding. They even had brown and blue bedding. They just didn't have brown and pink. Jack didn't seem surprised, but I was - I've seen several photos of brown and pink nurseries lately. We decided to try one last store, but that one was also devoid of brown and pink bedding. So we headed back home and went online. After a quick search, we found the Maya baby crib bedding set and we were all set. I think next time we'll check the Internet first LOL.
If you're curious, here's the description of the bedding:
Why is it that babies get the coolest stuff? This funky, hip crib set with polka dots and stripes presents a modern take on the "pretty in pink" standard for little girls. This Maya baby girl bedding collection includes a pretty solid pink color in the softest velour material along with striking 100% cotton twill material with bold stripes of pink, caramel, chocolate brown and white. The polka dot material is 100% cotton percale pink with chocolate brown dots. The solid chocolate brown and caramel colors are 100% polyester material. The coverlet which is perfect for keeping babies warm is a striking patchwork of all the different materials – stripes, polka dots and solids. The ultra suede brown trim perfectly sets off the look. The crib bumper comes in four separate pieces and is encased in a removable slip cover that incorporates both the stripes and polka dots and highlighted beautifully with the brown suede trim. The best part is the slip covers can be washed and replaced with ease! The crib skirt incorporating all of the pretty in pink and chocolate brown colors and patterns is the final touch on an overall charming bedding set, perfect for baby girls.

Give a Baby Gift Basket to the New Mom
Are you looking for some creative ideas for a baby shower present? A great idea is to present mom and baby with a gift basket. It can be a real delight to see all the practical and cute items. Rather than opening just one gift, she can spend some time admiring a variety of cute and useful baby products.
Decide if you want to buy a ready made baby gift basket that's fully assembled and all done up, or whether you want to make your own personalized and meaningful basket.
Start from Scratch
It's easy to make up a baby gift basket, as well as being a lot of fun. The first thing you need is a large basket, either decorated or plain. Choose a selection of little baby products, both useful and adorable. They don’t have to be expensive, so you can really make this an economical present. The time you spend on it will be the biggest factor.
When choosing your basket, consider buying a plain one and then painting it. For something special, choose a basket decorated with a baby theme. Line the basket with a receiving blanket and center your main item on it. This must be the biggest item, such as a plushy toy. Place several smaller items around it. Teething rings, small toys, washcloths and bibs are all good choices.
A really special touch would be to come up with a theme for the baby gift basket. For example, for a bath time basket, include some squeaky bath toys, a baby bath support ring, some gentle soap and shampoo, and some baby lotion. Add an adorable hooded baby bath towel.
For wrapping the gift basket, use clear cellophane. Gift baskets are also available in lots of cute themes. Finish it up with a big bow in a pretty pastel, and attach a card.
Wrapped and Ready to Go
A simpler approach is to find a ready made baby gift basket already assembled and wrapped. If you're creatively challenged, this will save you some stress as well as time. Gift baskets can be found at retail stores as well as online. Online gift basket stores frequently carry a large selection of cute themes like Baby Einstein and cookie bouquets. Many of these baskets even allow for personalization.
When it comes to baby shower presents, a gift basket is sure to be a hit. The new mom will be thankful for the thought you put into the gift and will also make good use of the contents.

Jogging Strollers Is Perfect For Active Lifestyles
All new parents need to get some kind of baby stroller that will allow them to go out and run errands and take care of business, while taking the baby along, but without trying to carry the baby and diaper bag. There are many styles and models of strollers on the market that parents can opt for and in recent years the jogging stroller has become a popular pick. Jogging strollers offer several advantages that set them apart from the more traditional types of strollers.
Jogger strollers refer to the kind of baby strollers that are built with three wheels instead of four, which is the configuration found on standard types of infant strollers. These baby jogger strollers are designed specifically for parents who are very active and who typically engage in outdoor activities, such as jogging, running, fitness walking, or simply walking quickly in order to take care of the many tasks of the day.
The way that people use jogging strollers varies quite a bit depending of the needs and activities of the family. Some people regularly use them in outdoor settings where there is uneven and rough terrain. Others like them for their maneuverability in crowded stores and congested sidewalks. The various jogging stroller models are equipped with different types and sizes of wheels, depending on how they will be used. Some are best on flat surfaces, while others are intended to be used on uneven surfaces as well.
There are a number of different considerations to take into account when shopping for a jogging stroller. The first thing to consider is how the stroller will be used, for the most part. Will it primarily be used while running or while walking? Or, will it be used equally for both types of activities? Will you regularly be taking the baby in the stroller out to the park and on hiking trails where the terrain is uneven and rough?
For parents who are avid runners and like to get out into nature on off-road pathways, they should be looking at a jogging stroller with larger wheels. The ideal size of wheels for these uses is 20 inches. This size of the wheels on the baby jogger will give the stroller, and the baby inside, a much smoother ride when going over uneven or bumpy surfaces, and will help to maneuver over curbs and such.
If you expect to primarily be doing light jogging or walking for health and fitness, then the 16-inch wheel is probably a good choice. This size will provide good baby jogger performance, and while it can still be used for outdoor activities such as running, walking or hiking, it also performs well in other situations, such as shopping and maneuvering around stores.
If the parents will mostly be using the stroller for light walking, such as shopping, then a jogging stroller with a 12-inch wheel size is probably the best choice. This small wheel size enables the jogger to move around obstacles more nimbly, which can be particularly important for wending your way through stores with narrow aisles.
There are several other kinds of features and accessories that you will find as you are shopping and comparing jogging strollers. One of the most important features is a sturdy safety harness that will secure the baby well, but that is also simple and easy to buckle and to remove. If you plan to be using the baby jogger out on rough terrain, it is also a good idea to be sure the model you select has a good parking brake.

Make Your Event Truly Special With A Personalized Baby Shower Gift
There are many effective and beautiful ways to personalize a baby shower gift and the results can change a gift into something really special.
A gift could be personalized by adding a sticker on the base, embossing the side or adding stitching to it across the top. And your personalization can show the name of the baby, the parents' names, the grandparents' names or the name of the giver.
The baby shower gift could even be decorated by adding a meaningful photo, phrase or logo. The text used to personalize the gift may be chosen by the giver or created by the gift's designer. A logo can be created by a professional designer or by the person who is buying the gift. A photo can be selected from a range of professional stock images or suppliedand incorporated into the baby gift.
Personalization quite literally transforms an otherwise impersonal gift into a keepsake that is going to be kept and treasured forever. It gives a reminder of happy occasions and affords an incentive to pass the gift on from one generation to the next. Monogramming can be used to add names to cloth items and printing can personalize anything that is capable of absorbing ink.
For instance, a slumber bear makes for a great present. Children adore the cuddly, teddy bear design and parents are happy knowing the gift is robust and made out of good materials. In later years both parents and the then infant will be able to look back on the baby shower when the gift was received and personalizing the gift makes the memories all the sweeter.
Yet another wonderful gift is a Dilly the Duck cashmere booster pillow which affords the ideal opportunity to stitch on the name of the baby. In the years ahead that present will grow from a treasured nursery item to a memento of those youthful years. Years after it has been given both parties can remember back to the happy times spent reading a storybook while the youngster's head nestled into it.
And storybooks themselves can be personalized in the form of a Fairy Tale book that carries all manner of individual markings. For stories that are written by the child's parents, the book can simply be signed with the author's name. When the book is bought then the gift giver can sign and date the book and print the name of the recipient. All these methods and more turn a simple book into a cherished memento of childhood.
Another baby shower gift that offers the opportunity for personalization is a birth plate on which you can paint the name of the baby around the rim or on the bottom. Here the best option is perhaps to print the name of the baby, birth date and weight along the rim to commemorate the birth of that very special individual who came into your life on that date.
These are of course just a few of the many ways to personalize everything from a simple gift to elaborate newborn baby gift baskets.

Ideas to Help Make Your First Airline Travel with Baby Smoother
The best word to describe a travel with your new infant is challenge. It is very challenging to have a long trip when you are with your children especially when air travel is involved. Parents want their infant at the most comfortable and secured position while traveling internationally for a vacation. With this, it is best to educate yourself of what to do when you will travel and you need to bring your infant with you.
One of the most popular and most common ways to make your travel secure for your baby is through purchasing a child’s fare where airlines will provide a baby car seat for infants to secure them during taking off and landing. However, this would cost you extra money out of your pockets. Aside from this, not all airlines allow parents to use a car seat.
Another option to look at is by purchasing an infant travel system, like a good name brand stroller such as a McLaren Bugaboo stoller. However, prior to purchasing this, it is best to do some research first with regard to the products being offered. This includes brands and models available, features like reclining seat positions, folding mechanism, weight restrictions and storage space in the strollers.
Once on the gate, it is also very important to ask the gate agent for a gate check ticket. With this, strollers can be setup in such a way that it will be readily available once you exit the plane after the flight. This is very convenient especially when you are in a connecting flight.
Carry on bags and diaper bags should also be in place when traveling with your baby. Consider combining your purse, diaper bag, and briefcase into one or two bags instead of several.
On the airplane, you must install the car seat on the plane when you purchase a ticket for your baby. For convenience, it is best advice that you seek help from the flight attendant and read the manual to make sure that your baby’s car seat is approved for air travel.
A baby sling can be a possible option too. This can help you carry your baby easier and trouble-free. However, some airlines do not recommend or allow special flight vest so it is best to do a research first or ask your airline before deciding to buy and carry a baby sling.
While you may be busy getting all the big gear for the trip together, don't forget the all-important engaging baby toys. Such toys include books, puppets, teething items and toys that make soft noises. This is vital, because there's nothing like having a baby cry simply because they are bored on a flight.
The best practice to take is to always be prepared whenever you plan to do an air travel and list down all important things to consider prior to the flight. Through this, you can enjoy the travel with fewer worries for your infant security and comfort. Also, you can rest assure a peace of mind while traveling.

Booster Seats Can Be Deadly
As a loving and caring parent, how you wished you'd spend all of your time with your son and daughters, you love to always play with them, spend time with them, bond with them, and always keep them company. Hence, you carry them wherever you go, and you bring them on trips through your car.
However, in the outside world, you'll never know what may happen, and if you bring your child with you all the time, you'd most likely put them in danger rather than keeping them safe at home. I know you like to spend lots of time with your children and you also want them to be very safe no matter where they are--whether playing or in the car.
Several studies have reported that as numbers of cars and car owners are continuously increasing each day, one of the primary causes of children's accidents and deaths are due to a car crash. This is so because when a car accident occur, a child whom is the more vulnerable than adults, would most likely obtain the largest impact, and as dependent as they can be, they cannot help themselves to survive. Hence, putting an end to the life of an innocent little angel.
Accidents – they happen even when you least expect them. Well, that's why they are called accident, they are unexpected and undesirable events. Obviously, no one wants them, except when the term is used for “accidentally bumping into your crush.” Kidding aside, accidents are often unwanted, yet they come though they were never welcome. You won't know when they would happen to you, so it is recommended that you'll always be prepared and alert.
Preparedness doesn't mean you'd just sit there, wait and accept this unwanted event. Preparing means fighting against accidents, being always ready to counterattack them, or if not, even as simple as avoiding them, or being one of the fortunate survivors.
Because children are still largely dependent on adults, they can't do these preparations all by themselves. Thus, as a parent, this is one of your tasks. You don't want to bump into an accident, and regret in the end that you have failed to prepare the security of your children.
Booster seat is one type of a child car seat, and it is widely known in the market, and most of the parents use them to protect their children from probable danger. They trust their children's life on this piece of equipment. Not until an emotional video was uploaded on You Tube by a mother of a 3-year old kid named Kyle. In this video, she blamed the death of his young child to the malfunction of her child's booster seat.
During the car accident they had on May 2005, Kyle was seated in a booster seat, which she thought would protect her child in such cases. However, it had functioned otherwise. The seatbelt was buckled but upon impact it unlatched.
Because of her horrific loss, Kyle's mother urges parents all over the world to use 5-point harness seats for their children rather than booster seats. A 5-point harness provides more security and protection to your lovable kids. A Britax car seat or a Maxi-Cosi car seat are very positive choices for a parent who wants to keep their child safe...very safe!

What to Look for in an Infant Car Seat
Among the highest goals for any parent is baby safety. The most important part of that plan is to choose the best seat for the particular car. Here are a few things to look for when trying to find that perfect model.
The first considerations are age and weight. Babies less than one year of age need to have a safety seat that is especially made for their small size. It should also be rear facing and not intended for use by older babies.
The average weight for a child between the ages of one and four is about 20 to 40 pounds. They're also, of course, taller than infants and the older they are the taller. This introduces the possibility for a car seat that faces forward, making things more convenient for the parents. However, it still needs to be placed in the back seat.
The good news is that you don't have to give up convenience to achieve these goals. Many models are convertible. That is, they can be turned from a rear-facing position to forward-facing with a few simple movements. Still, keep in mind the correct age and weight characteristics.
It's important that your car seat satisfies certain criteria. It's important to look for a seat with a five point harness feature. So the parents can use the car's safety belt to fasten the baby seat at the shoulders, hips and between the legs. That provides a very stable, secure platform.
An overhead shield is also a useful option. These are padded covers that rotate down over the child. AT-shield is another option; this is a padded attachment for the should straps, in the shape of a T of course.
Look for models with a tether at the top that can be attached from the top of the child's car seat to an anchor point in the car. That adds extra safety. Some have a system called LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children). This eliminates the need to use the car's safety belts which, after all, were designed for larger children and adults. The car seat attaches, instead, entirely to the anchors.
A baby car safety seat that makes it easy to safely and securely add or remove padding, blankets and more provides additional comfort and safety. As well, parents don't have to spend as much time making adjustments to the seat for a good fit. That's a win-win situation for both. There are even those with an integrated travel vest to buckle around your child.
That same double theme of safety and convenience is carried on by seat designs that make it easy to insert and adjust the restraining straps. Parents are busy folks and it's easy to succumb to the temptation to take a short cut. But no one wants to sacrifice safety. A model that needs just a few seconds to put in or move is the answer to all of those issues.

A Baby Shower Cake With A Difference
Perhaps you thought that baby shower cakes were merely a scrumptious dessert served to your guests... Well, that's undoubtedly one form of cake. But there's another kind of baby shower cake which is filled with all kinds of useful gifts for the about-to-be mom. One extremely popular choice in this area is a gift which really does look like a multi-tiered wedding cake. However rather than being made from sugar and flour and eggs, it is made from the one thing that a new mom can never have too many of - diapers.
These clever and attractive baby shower cakes make the perfect gift for the occasion. Everyone thinks about giving diapers to the expectant mother and she will certainly be able to use them. At roughly 32 inches high, you will see these cakes hold many of these necessities. Booties, terry cloth towels, a baby cap and several other items of clothing are all part of the package too.
Even the somewhat smaller 2-tier baby shower cakes can offer dozens of highly valued gifts and forms a fabulous decoration as a centerpiece for the baby shower table. Simply peel off the outermost layers and enjoy the rattle, teething ring, pacifier and more which will certainly be used. Open it up and discover socks, a manicure set, a brush and comb and many other equally useful presents.
Some baby shower cakes may house only decorative gifts, but these too will be much appreciated by the guest of honor. Silk roses and ceramic baby blocks and much more set on a scalloped silver platter mean that this is one gift that won't be shoved in the closet after the party. Too Many choices When It Comes To Buying Infant Clothing
When it comes to baby clothes there is no shortage of originality or attempts at humor. Many Mom's and Dad's find themselves at a loss of how much and what size to buy. There are styles from many different outlets that meet everyone's sense of humor, sense of style and their sense of budget. The one thing most Mom's and Dad's keep in mind when choosing baby clothes is the fact that the baby probably will not wear it too long.
From the moment a baby is born until it reaches maturity, there are constant and unpredictable periods of growth. These growth spurts can make it difficult to determine what size the infant will be wearing from one week to the next and, even if there is a major sale on baby clothing, many Mom's and Dad's are afraid to get too many clothes as the baby may outgrow many of them before they have the opportunity to wear them.
Purchasing baby clothing as gifts for someone's child can be equally as tough, as the baby can grow dramatically in a few short weeks and an outfit that might be the accurate size the day it is bought may be too small when they receive the gift. For the most part it is better to buy baby clothing that is larger than needed, giving the child an opportunity to grow into it instead of having a dresser full of stuff they cannot wear.
Picking Out Sizes Can Be Confusing
Complicating the process of purchasing infant clothing even more than the growth spurts are the makers who seemingly do not follow the same guidelines on how their clothing is sized. A child who fits perfectly in a toddler size four from one company but a size four from a different manufacturer can either be too big or too small.
Most designers also confuse those who do not have children, with their sizes of baby clothing by marking it for months, or in rare cases by the baby's weight. Infant clothing is generally sized by months indicating an outfit will fit an infant. For example, from zero to three months or three to six months of age. Most parents learn fast that the age of the child is rarely a proper indicator of the size of their babies clothing.
Many parents will but from discounted online vendors when it comes to purchasing baby clothing, knowing that the infant will likely outgrow it after one or two times of wearing it. Purchasing expensive designer baby clothes may make the parents feel proud when they take their child to visit relatives, but the need to constantly buy more clothes may soon succumb to common sense.

Great Ideas for Christening Keepsakes
A baby’s christening or baptism is a very special occasion. It is the very first step in their spiritual life. It's important for the parents, godparents and family members to create lasting momentos for the baby since they are too young to have their own first-hand memories.
There are always the popular items that are known to make treasured keepsakes, but there are many other ideas that might get overlooked. For instance, are the invitations just for inviting guests to the celebration? That is their main purpose, but saving just one of them to be framed or placed in a memory scrapbook will create a lasting souvenir of the occasion.
Here is a list of some other baptism and christening items that can be used as keepsakes creating treasured memories for years to come.
- Gown or Outfit – Choosing heirloom quality fabric and taking the proper storage measures will help preserve the gown or outfit for future generations or just as a lasting remembrance.
- Accessories (socks, shoes, bib, blanket, bonnet, towel) - They all add an extra special touch to the gown or outfit and make great mementos.
- Jewelry – A delicate baby bracelet or petite cross necklace will add to the beauty of the baby's outfit and can be kept as a precious token of this special day.
- Favors – These are perfect for showing appreciation to guests and providing them with a take-home gift. Many types of favors can be personalized .
- Certificate – This is a great way to create a written record of the baptism or christening that can be framed and displayed.
- Personalized Baptism Gifts – These are normally items designed specifically for the occasion such as a photo album, photo frame, Bible, cross plaque, or commemorative candle. They are extra special because they usually display the baby's name and date of ceremony.
Godparents, in particular, should especially consider giving their godchild a keepsake gift since part of their responsibility is to help the child grow in their spirituality . Since their baptism or christening is the beginning of their spiritual life, it should always be remembered . There are also special godchild, goddaughter, and godson gifts available for personalization.
Personalized keepsakes are a wonderful way to honor the memory of the baby’s christening or baptism through the years as they grow in their spirituality. Remember to also have plenty of pictures taken the day of the event to add to a photo album or scrapbook as a souvenir of the occasion.
Baby Blankets Can Make Wonderful Baby Shower Gifts
It is always hard to come up with a great gift for a baby shower but a baby blanket might just be the answer to earning yourself the "most popular gift" award at the shower. With a range of clever and original designs available you can't go wrong here with these unique baby shower gifts.
But, what could be more ordinary than a baby blanket I hear you ask? Used for hundreds of years to wrap a baby and to provide needed warmth, it's hard to see anyone coming up with a fresh idea for a blanket. Well guess again. Baby blankets have discovered whole new heights of fun, creativity and usefulness.
One example is "Pigs in a Blanket" which combines both a clever design and a practical gift. This two-piece gift set will produce lots of "oohs" and "awws" when the expectant mom opens the decorative gift box which comprises an enchanting vintage container surmounted by an organza bow.
Inside the box she will find a plush blanket which can be printed with a favorite phrase or simply personalized. The blanket is wrapped around a gorgeous teddy bear-style pig which will quickly become the baby's favorite. Manufactured from stain-resistant polyester and with a tough construction, it could very well even be handed down to the next generation of the family.
This gift also comes with a children's story book rhyme which is designed in a similar style to complement the two other items. "This Little Piggy" printed on the back was never so much fun and the five little piggies which are dancing on the front are in agreement.
Just as much fun is the JoJo Giraffe toy which comes with its own special blanket inside a keepsake box. Standing 20 inches high it will sit proudly in the corner until the baby can no longer resist the temptation to play with it... which at a guess will take approximately four seconds. With his arms and legs wrapped around a multi-colored keepsake box made in similar style, JoJo is quite simply a perfect gift.
The blanket which comes with the gift adds hugely to the delight that both baby and mom will receive from this exquisitie item. Easily personalized with the addition of the baby's name, the sunshine yellow fleece is both soothing and warm. In addition, at 40 inches by 30 inches, it is a good size for either a decorative bed cover or a baby blanket.
But baby blankets that are standalone items can also make perfect gifts. The Maddie's Meadow is a wonderful example. Brightly and colorfully decorated with butterflies and flowers on a pink background, it's extremely inviting. The gift box carries a matching theme with fluffy pink clouds and bright green grass that will remind mom of the joys of spring. Personalization is also easily achieved thanks to the wide satin border which surrounds the soft fleece.

Which Twin Stroller Is Right For You?
Is there another child on the way or are you expecting twins? Then you definitely need a twin stroller!
Before you begin, you need to determine which stroller is best for your lifestyle. For example, it doesn't make sense to purchase the same double stroller your friend raves about if you're an avid runner and her favorite hobby is shopping.
Determine the best twin stroller for you by answering the eight following questions.
1. What activities do you need a double stroller for?
Do you do most of your shopping in malls? Do you like to jog or take long walks around the neighborhood in all types of weather? Are you a frequent traveler?
The activities you do most often will decide what type of double stroller you should choose, whether it be a regular twin mall stroller, a lightweight (ex. umbrella) double stroller, a twin jogging stroller or a twin all-terrain stroller.
2. Which seating design would best suit your needs?
Twin strollers come in two seating designs: tandem (one child in front of the other) or side-by-side. Both designs have their advantages and disadvantages, so it's important for you to think carefully about what your lifestyle will be like with twins or two children of different ages (although this is not easy to do before actually living through it!).
3. What are the ages and temperaments of your children?
Your double stroller needs will be slightly different if you're the parents of twins than if you have a baby and an older child. Some double strollers are true twin strollers, meaning they have features that are meant to accommodate two children of the same age, such as the ability to clip in two infant car seats. There are also double strollers that are designed so that a toddler can sit in the front seat where he can have a better view and more leg room while baby brother or sister sleeps comfortably in the fully reclining rear seat.
Many parents find that side-by-side double strollers help keep the peace between children because they prevent arguments about who gets to sit in the front seat. On the other hand, being side-by-side can also create other problems with the two children sitting in such close proximity.
4. How often are you going to use the twin stroller?
If you're only planning on using a stroller for quick errands to the mall a couple times a week, you don't need to purchase a heavy-duty, high-end double stroller with a lot of features. However, if you walk or run on a daily basis, or if you go out with your kids often and for long periods of time, you should consider getting something that is comfortable and durable, since double strollers take twice the abuse of single strollers.
5. Who will be using the stroller?
Keep in mind the height and stride of the person or persons who will be using the double stroller the most, as well as their physical strength. It's no fun pushing a stroller with a handle that is too low or too high for comfort and neither is folding and picking up one that is cumbersome. It's true that twin strollers are heavier and bulkier than single strollers due to their very nature, but there are models on the market that are easier to handle than others.
6. What features are you looking for?
Do you want a simple, no frills twin stroller, or something with lots of comfort, durability and storage space? This brings us back to the types of activities you do most often. It's very disappointing to purchase a stroller and then realize that its features don't meet your needs as well as they could have.
7. How much space do you have for transporting and storing it?
With a few exceptions, double strollers take up a lot of room. The size of your vehicle may be a big deciding factor when choosing a double model. Make sure it fits! Also, take into account where you will store the stroller at home.
8. What can you afford?
This is probably the most important question of all. Think carefully of your present and future stroller needs with your two children. What is the minimum you are willing to live with? Can you afford to pay for a higher quality twin stroller that will make your life easier in the long run, or are you willing to take your chances with a budget stroller that may break down before you're done using it? For twins, a double universal car seat carrier (stroller frame) is an inexpensive alternative to buying an actual stroller during the infant stage if you're yet not sure what you'll need later on.
Once you've determined what you really need, then you can begin researching the various brands and models that are on the market. Read as many double stroller reviews as possible. You will be able to quickly eliminate twin strollers that don't fit your criteria, making the whole process a lot easier and less time-consuming.

The Baby Jogger City Series Is Very Popular For Active Parents
Expectant parents who take a lot of pleasure from being active and getting out of doors as much as possible will appreciate having a quality stroller that can give them the option of taking the baby along on their outings. For those new parents who want a lightweight stroller that is also built to handle jogging and other outdoor pursuits, the Baby Jogger City Series of strollers can give them some wonderful options.
The Baby Jogger strollers are perfect for the mom or dad who wants to do some serious jogging while taking the baby on a bit of an outing. One of the things that all of the Baby Jogger models have is an excellent mechanism that allows it to turn easily and corner well while remaining stable so that the baby is always safe, secure and comfortable.
The Baby Jogger Company, which manufactures, distributes and markets the Baby Jogger City Series of strollers, was started by a newspaper journalist, Phil Baechler. When his child was young, Baechler used to enjoy jogging and taking the baby along, pushing the stroller as he ran. It didn't take long before he realized that he needed a different kind of "vehicle" for this kind of outing.
As a result, Baechler began working up ideas for way to modify the standard, traditional stroller and make it into something that would work better for his needs. Eventually, he ended up designing a new breed of stroller that had the right function, feel and maneuverability that made it perfect for jogging. He called his new, baby trend creation the "Baby Jogger."
The original Baby Jogger stroller was a bit hit almost immediately and soon the company followed up with an expanded model called "The Twinner," which is a double stroller, designed to accommodate two children. These jogging strollers became popular because they were very convenient to use anywhere, in just about any situation, not just for jogging.
One of the things that have set apart the Baby Jogger strollers is how easily they can be turned. All of the models of baby joggers from this innovative company are able to make easy and tight turns in stores, sidewalks, or any other location where the parent might find themselves with their youngster. It is the 6" swivel wheel in the front and the 12" wheels in the rear that help to make the Baby Jogger models so easy to navigate, even in crowded conditions.
Another innovation that is a feature of the Baby Jogger strollers is an optional conversion kit for the front wheels. With this kit, the parent can quickly and easily transform the 4-wheeled stroller into a 3-wheeled model when needed, which provides even more maneuverability and allows the parent to negotiate turns even better.
Parents seem to be enamored of the Baby Jogger City Series because of how easy it is to push, steer and collapse. Some parents do report that it is on the heavy side, but that is also a benefit because you can hang a heavy shopping bag, diaper bag, or purse from the back of it and there's no concern about it tipping over. Another feature parents like is the sun cover that extends to protect the baby's delicate skin from the sun.

Double Strollers Excellent Solution For Siblings, Twins
For families that have twins, or a newborn and another child still in diapers, double strollers can be a huge convenience and real benefit, and can make outings so much easier. With a double stroller the parents can manage taking the kids where they need to go in safety and comfort, without trying to figure out how to steer two different strollers or deal with folding them up and stowing them into their vehicle.
Double strollers are available in wide variety of colors and styles and are offered from a variety of different baby travel gear manufacturers. The first thing you will find is that there are two distinctly different types of double stroller models or configurations that parents can choose from, and each of these configurations come in an array of styles.
The tandem stroller configuration has two seating areas which are positioned one in front of the other, while the side-by-side double stroller configuration has two side by side seats. There are various advantages and disadvantages of these two different kinds of double strollers which should be weighed before making a decision about which type of purchase is best for your family.
The most common model and most widely available, is the side-by-side double stroller. For the best handling when steering this type of stroller, it is better to use this model with twins or with two children who are fairly close to the same weight. These baby strollers are easier to maneuver over curbs, small bumps and obstacles.
Obviously, the double, side-by-side strollers are wider than the tandem stroller models, but in recent years, primarily due to feedback from parents, manufacturers have worked hard at redesigning them to be as narrow as possible so that they can fit through doorways more easily. However, it should be noted that a side-by-side double stroller will always be more challenging, awkward, and difficult to steer and navigate through crowded areas and tight aisles.
Another benefit to the side-by-side configuration is that with the children seated alongside each other, they can better interact as they grow and they also enjoy the same view from their seats. As the kids get older, this is an important factor as it will reduce the fighting and bickering that might take place over who gets to sit in the front seat. The seats of most side-by-side models don't recline fully, and if this is the case with the model you are considering, it should be used with older children and not infants.
The tandem stroller models seem to be better suited for use with a baby and an older brother or sister. With most models of these double seated strollers, the seat in the rear is able to recline fully which is perfect for the newborn, while the older sibling has a nice view from the front seat and plenty of leg room as well.
A tandem stroller will fold up into a smaller size than a side-by-side stroller, and because they are narrower they are easier to get through doorways and store aisles. However, because of the increased length, many parents complain about them being difficult to turn, especially in tight spaces. When looking at your choice in double strollers, these points should help to guide you in your decision so that you have the best model to meet the needs of your family.

Tackling Your Toddler's Biting Habit
Somewhere between one and three years old, toddlers tend to start a biting habit. Typically, this behavior develops because it is one of the few means of communication available to a toddler. But not all children have the biting habit. Some grab, shove, pinch or punch. That can be just as bad!
Another reason that toddlers bite is that they feel frustrated because their motor and communication skills are so limited at this time.
A toddler will laugh when mommy suddenly jumps and screams, or if one of his friends starts wailing. Another possible cause of biting behavior is related to teething; if they can put a teething ring in their mouth, why not someone's ear? Sometimes the problem is something as simple as hunger.
What are the ways in which your child can learn that biting is wrong? You need to communicate clearly that it's inappropriate and hurtful to bite. Help them to understand that other kids feel pain when your little one bites them. Be sure to let your toddler know that biting is not allowed, that it's wrong, and that it makes you unhappy.
If you find that your child is biting due to frustration, give your toddler an alternative way to express to people they are having a difficult time. Even though teaching English seems to be a monumental task at this time, most toddlers can be taught words that are right for certain situations.
As an example, "When you need to tell mommy that you need some help, you can't bite." Or "Let mommy know what you need, but no biting. Mommy will get hurt if you bite her, and I know that you don't want to make mommy sad." This may bring a cloak of shame of what they are about to do and they may think their actions over again before actually biting.
As parents, you shouldn't let biting become a big issue. This will be true for any type of behavior that you want to discourage. Let your toddler know, firmly yet gently, that biting is not permitted, that it's wrong and that it hurts everyone, grownup or child.

Is it Possible to Determine the Sex of a Baby?
Many expectant parents or those looking to conceive are wondering if it's possible to determine the sex of a baby ; for whatever reason they prefer one gender over another and want to conceive a boy or a girl. Their reasons for this are personal and should be respected of course, but what can parents do if they're trying to determine the sex of a baby before conception?
For one thing, never think that you're going to get a guarantee regarding the gender of a baby no matter what you do. Conception is a process that happens at a microscopic level and of course there are typically millions of sperm that are present during intercourse, so any one of those can reach an egg in order to fertilize it. The sperm itself is what will determine the sex of a baby; this has nothing to do with the mother, her age, the month of conception, the amount of potassium in the woman's system, and so on. Sperm contain one chromosome factor each; a Y chromosome will create a boy whereas an X chromosome will create a girl.
When you realize that the gender of the baby is determined simply by which sperm reaches the egg first, you realize how difficult it is to determine the sex of a baby before conception. Those sperm are so tiny that you just can't do anything to control which one reaches an egg first! They're not like pet dogs where you can call one back and send one ahead and the mother certainly has no knowledge of which one is faster than the others.
So how do parents determine the sex of a baby? The only real differences that seem to be present in the sperm is that the Y chromosome sperm travel faster but die quicker than the X chromosome sperm. To conceive a girl you may want to create an environment that is hostile to the sperm so that the weaker boy sperm can die away, and to conceive a boy you may want to have deeper penetration during sex so that the faster sperm can reach the egg quicker. Even then, to really determine the sex of a baby you should wait until you're actually pregnant and have an ultrasound from your doctor so that you know for sure, as many parents have been surprised by their baby's gender!

How To Pick From The Types Of Baby Strollers
When a couple learns that they have a baby on the way for the first time, they are faced with a myriad of decisions to make and important items to shop for. Baby strollers are one of the first things that new parents start shopping for, probably because they are such a basic and essential need. A quality baby stroller will give the parents peace of mind, in knowing their little one is safe and comfortable, and also convenience, by being able to push the baby in the stroller rather than carrying the child everywhere.
In many cases, new or expecting parents find themselves completely overwhelmed by the many choices and decisions they need to make about outfitting the nursery and choosing the furniture, equipment, and accessories to properly prepare for a newborn. When it comes to choosing a stroller, there are hundreds of offerings in various baby stroller models and styles, all made by dozens of different manufacturers of baby various baby accessories and equipment.
Baby strollers are designed to safely accommodate a wide range of children, from newborn infants to toddlers. This means you will be using your baby stroller for several years, so you want to choose one that is durable, with features to make it fully adaptable to the needs of your child as he or she grows and develops.
One of the main considerations when looking at the selection of strollers is how large the stroller will be when it is folded up. In most cases, parents will fold up the stroller and put it in the car to go to their destination, then secure the child in their baby car seat for the journey, and then unfold the stroller to take the baby into store or the mall. You need to be aware of the folded size of the stroller and the amount of space that will be needed in your vehicle to stow it.
Because of the need to fold and unfold strollers almost constantly, another important consideration is the mechanism that is built-in for folding it up. There are some models that can be folded or unfolded with one hand and these are particularly convenient when you don't want to set the child down to deal with folding up the baby stroller.
For some people, a lightweight stroller is an important criterion. This is especially true if you will be traveling frequently by air, bus or train and need to take the stroller along on the trip. Umbrella strollers are one popular option because they are easy to fold and carry. However, they do not have much in the way of additional storage areas. If you need space on the stroller for a lot of baby travel accessories, then this type may not be the best choice.
In addition, there are also several types of baby strollers designed for specific purposes, such as a twin stroller that can be a great solution for parents who have two young children, as well as parents of twins. A jogging stroller is also another specialty version of the baby stroller, which is perfectly suited for parents who are physically active and intend to stay that way. In the last few years, manufacturers have also introduced models of baby car seat strollers, which integrate the car seat into the frame of the stroller. The baby car seat can be transferred back and forth from stroller to car, and the child remains secured in the seat the whole time.
